Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This policy covers the cogsprout.com website and the messages you send us. Each of our games has its own privacy policy: see the Trinket Tales privacy policy.
The website is run by Cogsprout, Romania. If you have a question about this policy or your data, write to hello@cogsprout.com.
The short version
- This website sets no cookies and doesn't track you. There are no ads and no analytics.
- It doesn't ask for any personal information: there are no forms and no accounts.
- Fonts and images are served from this website, so it doesn't load anything from other companies' servers.
- If you email us, we use your message only to reply to you.
Visiting the website
Like every website, ours has to receive some technical information to send you a page: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and your browser and device type. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes this information on our behalf to deliver the site and protect it from attacks and abuse. We don't use it to identify you. We only see totals, such as the number of visits per day.
Cloudflare may keep this information in its logs for a short time, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a website that works and is safe (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
Cookies and similar technologies
This website doesn't set any cookies and doesn't store anything in your browser. It doesn't use analytics, advertising or social media plug-ins, and it doesn't embed content from other websites. That's why there's no cookie banner: there is nothing to agree to.
If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before setting anything that isn't strictly necessary.
When you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use them only to reply and to help with what you asked, for example to look into a bug you reported. We don't add you to a mailing list and we don't share your message with anyone else, except the service providers who run our email for us.
We keep messages for as long as we need them to deal with your request, and delete them within two years of our last exchange, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
Service providers outside the EU
Some of our service providers may process data outside the European Union. When they do, they use the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Links to other websites
This website links to other websites, such as Google Play. Once you follow a link, that website's own privacy policy applies.
Children
This website doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children. If a child has emailed us and you'd like the message deleted, write to us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to how we use it, or ask us to limit it. To do any of this, write to hello@cogsprout.com.
If you are in the European Union, you also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: the one where you live, or ours in Romania, ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
